Should I stay or should I go?

Things are going well food wise – still not good with the gym and all that. Must go tomorrow morning. Feel bad about it. My excuse today was that I overslept. Could it be that this diet makes me more fatigued? I have a tendency to sleep a lot, and to need a lot of sleep, but this kind of takes the cake I think. Last weekend I slept for fifteen hours straight! No wonder I can’t get up in time for the gym, right?

I’m also concerned about the weight not shedding like I want it to. That’s why I’m seriously considering giving Low Calorie another try if I don’t lose a heck of a lot on Thursday. I know I didn’t lose much on LCal last time, but then again… I was on drugs then.

We shall see, my peeps, we shall see.

  1. 299,

How are you going with the medication- still trying to get off or are you drug free now?

Taking medication such as we have makes it very difficult to a) stop shoving crap in your mouth, and b) shed the kilos once they are on. Being lethargic certainly doesn’t help.

But if I can, I would love to suggest a low calorie diet- not a full restricted diet though, just a sensible low calorie, high energy food plan.

I have tried the shakes and the no-carbs and all the rest and it seriously just doesn’t work.

But hey, that’s just my experience, will power to you if you can make it work another way.

Can I also suggest this book: “Stop The Insanity” by Susan Power- it’s written by a woman who really has been there are sheds light on the diets you are trying (and I have tried) and explains why they won’t work.

I am not being critical of you- I am genuinely trying to help someone who is genuinely trying to help themselves.

Love to hear how you are going!

  2. Do follow my blogs hun, I was 263lbs a month ago and I have lost 14 lbs already, I have learned the right way to eat and how our body handles our foods, I am also taking high quality multi vitamin and that helps my body deal with the toxins that are being released into my body with the weight loss. Hugs hun and hope i can inspire you!

  3. You say you are concerned that the weight is not shedding as you’d like… but you had very high goals. Is it coming off at all? How are you feeling other than tired?

Everyone is different in terms of what works for them and their bodies and lifestyles. I suggest you find a well reputed plan that you can follow. I suggest either Weight Watchers or South Beach diet. Both are structured but allow lots of options. I know you have tried low-carb but I think that SB might be better in terms of the actual food options and so many people who do it feel so much better after just a short time on it.

Unfortunately, losing weight is hard. Being motivated to exercise is hard. I will be thinking of you and sending mental moral support:)

Are you enjoying what you are eating? That is a huge factor in my book. While I do love low carb I can not handle really low carb. I do love the aspect of metabolism miracle that allows unlimited low carb veggies and a glass of wine.

I don’t know a thing about low cal but I think the important thing one way or the other is you are Making changes you can stand for life.

  5. The thing about low carb is that you can eat what you want as long as you stay withing your daily allowance of calories.

Weight Watchers is a great plan in that every food has a certain amount of points and you have a particular points allowed per day. If you want that cake and it’s twelve points, eat it by all means, it just means you may only have 12 points left.

BUT it takes a lot of foreward thinking and planning!

I was just jumping back to see if you had blogged about what you decided to do :)

  7. Hey, sorry I havent been on in a while, looks like your making GREAT progress. Remember, low and slow is the best way to go. Losing weight fast never equals longterm loss.
I officially quit smoking on March 1st, and I know it’ll be a toughie to keep up the non smoking and the weightloss, but if you’re still trying to quit smoking, I would deffo try the nicotine patch. I have gone 1 day on it and I already feel better. No cravings!

Good luck with the Lcal diet. I can’t stick to a diet plan to save my life. I do portion control and mainly refrain from eating 2 hours before beddie times. Looking forward to reading more about your journey love. Don’t forget that you’re not alone!
